Glenville Grove, Deptford

Modern two double bedroom penthouse apartment of 713 square feet, with both bath and shower rooms, and a balcony to skyline views. Chain free.

The location of Regency Court is a well-connected yet quiet cul de sac. You are just five minutes from Deptford and New Cross stations and their centres. For Wharfers, Deptford DLR Station is yours in 10 minutes.

Resting on the Deptford/New Cross border, you are wonderfully-close to Goldsmiths University (we love the ‘Scribble’ atop the Arts complex) and Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art, and Deptford High Street and Market Yard, Greenwich and Brockley too - all are an easy walk for pubs, markets and more.

Up to the third floor and in your front door, to your left are two sunny south-facing bedrooms: both good doubles. One has a modern en suite shower room. Opposite the front door is a handy coat closet, then next door is the property’s bathroom - with over bath shower, and again with modern fixtures and fittings.

The main event is up next: a really large room delivering dining, kitchen and reception spaces. Sliding double-glazed doors open to your balcony. The modern fitted kitchen base units are topped with granite counters. Appliances are built-in.

Such a good base this for accessing the best of south London. Of the weekend, take a stroll down to gorgeous Greenwich with its Royal Park and museums, river proximity and rich architecture. Or staying closer, Hilly Fields and Telegraph Hill's Victorian parks are great.

Local Farmers' Markets are Brockley Market (held in Lewisham College's walled car park - cooler than it sounds!) and one at the lower park in Telegraph Hill. Both are on Saturdays.

New Cross has a growing number of strong places to eat and drink; The Amersham Arms, The Fat Walrus, The Rosemary and The Rose are recommended.

The cool bars, restaurants, cafes and markets of Deptford High Street and recently developed Market Yard are all very local. Check out The Waiting Room, Badger Badger, Watergate, Klose & Soan, SALT and Marcella - all within mere minutes of your door. The Dog & Bell is a lovely old style boozer - a cracking local. Central Deptford further boats regular markets, a theatre, and a modern leisure centre next to the library.

Deptford's also home to St Paul's - one of London's finest Baroque parish churches, cited as "one of the most moving C18 churches in London" in the Buildings of England series.

For more options, you can bus or cycle over to Peckham, Dulwich, Blackheath, Camberwell, Brixton and Lewisham.
