Bellwood Road, Nunhead

Offers in excess of £1,000,000.

Bright four bed, three bath terraced house of 1724 square feet. The house blends nicely with its Victorian neighbour to its left, though was actually built in 2010 (one of a trio of homes). A part-walled and sunny south-east facing rear garden completes the attractive package.

It’s a top spot, too: a popular residential street, with Ivydale Primary School close by. Walk 12 minutes to Nunhead or Brockley stations. Both are Fare Zone 2. You are also blissfully-close to Peckham Rye Park and Common (walk eight minutes) and to Nunhead Cemetery - one of ‘The Magnificent Seven’ (walk a few minutes).

In your front door and there is a little lobby with your stairs leading up. Open the door on your right and you land in a huge open-plan reception/dining room/kitchen, running 50 feet to folding doors onto your sunny garden. A generous bank of gloss-finish wall and base kitchen units impress - so much storage and counter space! A handy downstairs w.c. and under stairs cupboard complete the floor.

Up to the first floor and there is a double bedroom ahead, of over 11 feet each way, with a private (windowed) shower room. Adjacent is a built-in linen cupboard then the property’s main bathroom, with window and neat white sanitary ware.

From the main landing, find two further double bedrooms. The master to the front has twin sash windows graced with custom-made shutters (find these downstairs as well) and a modern en suite shower room. No shortage of bathrooms in this home!

The second floor delivers a delightful fourth bedroom, with lots of accessible eaves storage. Finally at the top of the house is a final w.c.

The area? Your most local convenience shops are on Cheltenham Road, about five minutes from your door, on the way to Peckham Rye Park and Common. Nunhead’s high street (walk 12 or so minutes) has a pleasing offering of independent shops and places to eat and drink. We rate BARD4100, Kudu Grill, El Vermut, Mother Superior and Goodcup (and Goodnights). Established local favourite grocery spots are FC Soper wet fish shop and Ayres bakery. The Nunhead Gardener is a top tip too, close to the station. You also have a village-style green with playground area.

For more options, Peckham, New Cross, Brockley, Deptford and Dulwich are a short distance. In East Dulwich we recommend Dulwich Picturehouse (on Lordship Lane) and North Cross Road Saturday market.

Local school provision is strong here - with Ivydale Primary and Nursery most local to you, and Edmund Waller Primary School and Haberdashers’ (3-18) close as well. The Dulwich independent schools are a short drive or cycle ride.
