Nunhead high street has excellent independent shops. We like Ayres’s bakery, Soper’s wet fish shop and The Beer Shop to name a few. Four Hundred Rabbits is good for pizza (you can take out too), and The Old Nun’s Head is your local gastro-pub.

Other local towns (Dulwich, Peckham, Camberwell, New Cross, Deptford and Brockley) offer up plenty more choices.

Schools-wise, you are well-placed. Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham Temple Grove Free School and College (3-18) and Edmund Waller Primary are both 0.3 miles away and Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ and ‘Good’ respectively. John Stainer (‘Outstanding’) and Ivydale (‘Good’) Primaries are only half a mile away.
