Shardeloes Road, New Cross
Architect-designed one bed second (top) floor flat in a lovely converted Victorian house which is close to New Cross and Brockley stations (eight and 13 minutes) and town centres.
You’re also wonderfully-close to Goldsmiths University, and Deptford and Greenwich are an easy walk for pubs, markets and more. There’s just one maisonette below you. Share of Freehold.
In the smart communal hall and head up the stairs to the second floor and your own front door. On your immediate left is a handy coat closet. Straight across the hall and you open into your roomy reception which is open-plan to a smart modern kitchen. The room’s over 16 feet by nearly 13 feet - plenty of space to zone dedicated dining space too. Custom-built shelving, oak flooring and two sash windows (with secondary glazing) are all welcome features.
Taking a right then right from the front door is the double bedroom - this is 11 feet by over 9 feet. You’ve got wooden floors again and a soft grey hue to the walls.
Last but not least is the windowed bathroom with contemporary white suite, over bath shower and smart wall tiling.
The property is a short stroll from New Cross Station (regular and Overground services). Or walk 13 minutes to Brockley Station. You’re well served for day and night bus services, too.
You are just around the corner from Goldsmiths University and its famous ‘Scribble’ atop the Arts Complex. Thanks to Goldsmiths, you can enjoy a Curzon cinema and contemporary art gallery within the campus.
Of the weekend, take a stroll down to gorgeous Greenwich with its Royal Park, river proximity and rich architecture. Or staying closer, Hilly Fields and Telegraph Hill's Victorian parks are great. Local Farmers' Markets are Brockley Market (held in Lewisham College's walled car park) and one at the lower park in Telegraph Hill. Both are on Saturdays.
New Cross has a growing number of great places to eat and drink; The Amersham Arms, The Fat Walrus and The Rose are recommended. Deptford’s close for markets and a thriving evening scene - in Deptford Market Yard and on the high street (by Deptford Station). Here we like The Tapas Room and Marcella in particular.
