Oakhurst Grove, East Dulwich

Tidy top (second) floor flat of 517 square feet, within a handsome Victorian semi-detached house. Leasehold.

The location is a pretty and peaceful residential street in prime East Dulwich/Peckham Rye borderland - close to Goose Green, Peckham Rye Park and Common, Lordship Lane, and to both East Dulwich and Peckham Rye stations (walk 11 and 13 minutes to these respectively).

In the shared front door and take the stairs to your own front door at first floor level. Then it’s up the stairs to the landing area. The large open-plan reception room/kitchen sits to the front of the building, with east-facing double-glazed windows (the flat is double-glazed throughout). The kitchen has modern fitted units.

The double bedroom is over 11 feet by over 10 feet and has a south-facing window, and next door you’ve got a modern windowed bathroom, with over bath shower.

What’s about? Most locally on East Dulwich Road, you have a handy Tesco store and a classy parade of outlets including a Hop Burns & Black, an ice cream parlour, a bike shop and a chippy. East Dulwich leisure centre is on this stretch too.

You’re in a fine spot here to enjoy all that Peckham and East Dulwich have to offer in terms of shops restaurants, bars, cafes and markets. Some of our favourites include SMBS, Franklin’s, Mons, William Rose butchery, Chener Books plus North Cross Road’s Saturday market - in SE22, and Artusi, Ganapati, Review book store, The White Horse and The Gowlett pub - in SE15. The triangle at the point of Peckham Rye Common is abuzz with eateries such as Banh Banh, Mr Bao, Voodoo Ray’s and Good Neighbour.

And Rye Lane is in full-hipster-flight, with the likes of Peckham Levels, and The Bussey Building & Copeland Park - which are bursting with trendy eateries, drinkeries, rooftop bars, yoga classes and the like. There’s even a craft sake place!

Nunhead is an easy walk for independent staples such as FC Soper (wet fish shop) and Ayres (bakery). El Vermut, Goodcup, Kudu Grill and and Mother Superior are good here too.

For further options, you’re not far from Camberwell, Herne Hill and Dulwich Village.
