Lilford Road, Camberwell

Triple-aspect three double bedroom penthouse apartment - the only flat on this fourth top floor, and one of just seven apartments within the smart boutique development. The pleasing pad boasts two large balconies complete with city views (facing north-east and south-west) and an impressive internal footprint of 959 square feet. Leasehold.

This is a cool Camberwell spot with Brixton and Oval close by too. Your closest big road is Coldharbour Lane which is great for London-bound buses. Your nearest station is Loughborough Junction (walk four minutes) for Thameslink services to Elephant & Castle (where you can pick up the tube) and beyond.

The flat scores highly on the eco-charts with double-glazed doors and windows throughout, and solar panels on the roof. There’s also communal garden space on the roof. The far-reaching views up here - and from the two balconies of course - are superb!

Take the lift or stairs up to your floor - in your own front door and the first double bedroom (10 feet by 10) is set to your left - currently enjoyed as a home gym, with the second double to your right (over 11 feet by over 11), with a door out onto one of your balconies.

The wide hall hosts a large built-in coat/cleaning cupboard. Next up is the slick and contemporary windowed bathroom with over bath shower and large profile tiling. Adjacent is an additional w.c. in the same style.

The master bedroom is opposite and stretches over 16 feet. Again, you’ve got a door onto one of the balconies.

Last - but certainly not least - you land in the huge triple-aspect reception room of over 27 feet by over 14, with modern fitted kitchen (we love the smart stone counters here and high-end built-in SMEG appliances) to one large corner. Smart oak floors are a welcome feature and as throughout the apartment, lighting is recessed. A large glazed door by the kitchen area opens to the second balcony - both balconies are over 35 feet long - very impressive and a wonderful setup for gatherings or sun-worshipping.

The most local stations are Loughborough Junction (four minutes) and Denmark Hill Station (14). Brixton tube is easily reached with a short bus ride.

Central Camberwell has a strong offering of places to eat and drink for all budgets, alongside useful shops, banks and a Morrison’s supermarket. Some of our favourite restaurants are The Camberwell Arms, Silk Road, The Crooked Well and Theo’s. Cafe culture is strong too. Try Love Walk Cafe, The Pigeon Hole and Lumberjack.

In the opposite direction - headed for Brixton, it’s only a five minute walk to the popular live jazz venue at The Junction. Further along, Mamma Dough and Nanban (Brixton Village/Japanese fusion) on Coldharbour Lane itself come highly recommended. We love Three Eight Four too, for delicious cocktails and small plates. Central Brixton is home to established greats: The Brixton Academy and The Ritzy Cinema. And Brixton Village serves up the best street food you could wish for.

Ruskin and Myatt’s Fields Parks are your local Victorian parks, both have bandstands and community events galore, and Brockwell Park with popular lido is an easy bus ride or cycle. Camberwell Green hosts a Saturday Farmers’ Market 10am-2pm.

Keeping fit is easy round this way with Camberwell leisure centre on Artichoke Place a short stroll away, plus Zen Yoga Studio and Butterfly Tennis Club at the foot of Camberwell Grove.
