Camberwell leisure centre is also a short walk from the house, on Artichoke Place.
Central Camberwell has loads of top restaurants, cafes and pubs. We particularly rate: Theo’s, The Camberwell Arms, Viet Cafe, Silk Road, Love Walk Cafe, The Pigeon Hole Cafe (also open for cocktails later), Daily Goods and The Hermits Cave. Farmers’ Markets of the weekend are at Camberwell Green (Saturday) and Myatt’s Fields Park (Sunday). South London Gallery is also a recommend for the weekend. This patch of south London is heavy on the green space, with Ruskin, Brunswick, Burgess and Myatt’s Fields Parks all local, as well as Lettsom and Lucas Gardens. For more options, Peckham, Dulwich, Herne Hill, Brixton are all a short bus ride away.
London Bridge, London Victoria, Clapham Junction, Kings Cross St Pancras and Canary Wharf (via Canada Water) are all quickly reached with multiple transport options close by (Denmark Hill Station is your closest, followed by East Dulwich Station and Peckham Rye Station). You’ve wonderful day and night bus links too, from Camberwell Church Street and Denmark Hill.
