Danby Street, Peckham Rye
Three bed mid-terrace with a cool and contemporary rear extension to the ground floor, plus a big garden - and side access (shared with next door).
Find it on a pretty residential street near Bellenden Road and Peckham Rye (walk nine minutes) and East Dulwich (10 minutes) stations. Warwick Gardens and The Belham School are also close.
In your front door and a large and formal bay-windowed reception of over 11 feet by nearly 14 feet rests to your right, with bespoke built-in storage to the alcoves.
At the end of the hall you’ve got your wonderfully-white eat-in kitchen of over 15 feet by over 10 feet. Smart white wall and base units are set on two walls, and you’ve got a utility space off this room (which makes great use of the under stairs space).
Beyond the eat-in kitchen - neat square white floor tiles flowing through - and you land in the rear extension, which is over 13 feet by over 9 feet. This is a brilliant second reception space onto the garden; admire the private view, or get out there via wall-spanning folding doors.
The garden begins with white painted decking, then you have a good lawn and four large modern fixed planters - great for those with green fingers!
Up the stairs you’ve got two generous double bedrooms (over 14 feet by over 9 feet, and over 14 feet by over 10) and a big single bedroom as well (10 feet by over 7). All the bedrooms have built-in closets and the rear bedroom also boasts a neat en suite shower room. The tour is completed with a modern and windowed bathroom, set to the rear of the house.
Peckham Rye is all of a sizzle, with newcomers coming in, and current Peckhamites up or downsizing in the town they know and love - rather than moving out. Current regeneration projects include the Peckham Rye Station redevelopment including the arches on Blenheim Grove. We’re also very excited about The Peckham Coal Line.
Peckham has lots of independent shops, restaurants and cafes. Within a matter of minutes you have delights such as Artusi, Miss Tapas, The Begging Bowl, Levan, Petitou, The General Store, Flock & Herd butchery, Il Giardino and Review.
Rye Lane is also close for trendy destinations such as Peckham Levels and The Bussey Building & Copeland Park, plus handy high street shops, banks and fruit and veg stalls.
Central Camberwell is an easy walk down ravishing Camberwell Grove, for The South London Gallery and more restaurants etc. The Camberwell Arms and Theo's come recommended.
East Dulwich’s Lordship Lane has lovely shops, bars and cafes, as well as an M&S Food Hall and a Picturehouse cinema. And North Cross Road’s regular Saturday market is delightful.
Green space? Warwick Gardens and Lettsom Gardens are just a short walk. Bigger open spaces include Peckham Rye Park and Common, Ruskin and Dulwich Parks.
Little ones? The Villa Nursery and Pre-Prep. School is local to you on nearby Lyndhurst Grove. The Belham Primary (run by Dulwich Hamlet Educational Trust) is the newest school in the area and is proving a gigantic hit with local families. Walk there in three minutes. Bellenden, Dog Kennel Hill and Lyndhurst primaries are also very well-regarded.
