Camberwell Green, Camberwell

Recently-refurbished one double bedroom flat of 480 square feet, on the third floor of a Peabody Estate building, moments from Camberwell Green. Chain free.

It is a surprisingly quiet spot, yet you are a couple of minutes from the hustle and bustle of central Camberwell. Bus travel is seriously easy (and you can hop on a bus up to Oval for the tube) and Denmark Hill Station is just a 14 minute walk (up pretty Grove Lane).

You can feel the history here and we love the old-fashioned street lamps and traditional ceramic tiling in the stairwells, which hark back to the olden days! Fascinatingly, the original nine-block estate cost £30,000 to build and was opened in 1911, boasting “a warm red-brick exterior”. This was Peabody's first set of homes to have entirely self-contained plumbing (meaning no shared sinks and toilets).

Take stairs to the third floor and your own front door. First on your left is a smart (and windowed) bathroom, with neat white suite and an over-bath shower. Next along is the galley-style kitchen, where you’ll also find the boiler. New appliances are included in the sale.

Next you have the reception room - a large and light one at over 13 feet by over 12 feet (all the windows on this side of the flat face west for great afternoon sun). There is plenty of space to zone seating/dining/work space.

Finally, find your double bedroom, of over 12 feet by nearly 10 feet, with an east-facing window (fab morning sun).

This is an excellent central Camberwell location, with easy access to Herne Hill, Brixton, Peckham, Dulwich and Oval as well.

Camberwell Green hosts a Saturday market which is small but lovely! Ruskin, Brunswick and Myatt's Fields parks are really close, and you have brilliant places to eat, drink and shop for luxury groceries within mere minutes of your door (alongside handy high street offerings supermarkets and gyms). Some of our favourite spots include Forza Win, Little Cellars, The Camberwell Arms, Grove House Tavern, Veraison Wines, Theo’s and Gladwell’s.
