Camberwell is firmly on the map for fine places to eat. We love Theo's for stonebaked pizza, The Hill bakery on Grove Lane, plus The Camberwell Arms, Silk Road and Good Neighbour (all on Camberwell Church Street). The Sun pub is a nice local on Coldharbour Lane. 

Heading towards (and into) Brixton you have great options too. We like Mamma Dough, Three Eight Four (for cocktails and small plates) and Banh Banh. And of course Brixton Village for its many and varied eateries. 

Camberwell Leisure Centre has a recently-revamped Victorian pool and gym facilities, and a huge range of classes for adults and kids alike. 

For cricket lovers, The Oval is a 20 minute walk, and opposite Oval Station is a delightful weekly Farmers’ Market. There’s also a weekly Farmers’ Market on nearby Camberwell Green (both held on Saturdays). More locally, Myatt’s Field has its own market as well - on Sundays. 

Getting around? Grab a bus to the City, West End or Whitehall from Brixton Road; or to Victoria, Hyde Park and Paddington from Camberwell New Road. Or trot to Stockwell, Oval or Brixton for the tube (Victoria and Northern lines), or Loughborough Junction or Denmark Hill stations.
